Star Wars Pirate Factions

What is with all the hype about adding a third faction? There are a lot of X-Wing players in here that want Legion to be like X-Wing or B. Are afraid of the Clone Wars.

Having a third faction won't make the game competitive and just kills the story arc (in my opinion) that we are getting with OP. There also shouldn't be a 'neutral' faction either, just makes lists harder to build and could create confusion and make those die hard Star Wars fans turn away from the game.

The Clone Wars cartoon has a few examples of 'Scum' factions in it as well, such and Hondo's pirate band. Also, FFG don't need to wait until they are 'done' with Empire and Rebels, I'd like the initial factions to have enough units to provide each force org slot with options, but don't feel they need to exhaust everything before they start.

Also if you have only 3 factions, doesn't seem appealing to someone new to the game, especially if that faction doesn't fight for a 'true purpose.' I'm not butt hurt about this, just confused why it's being wanted. This game isn't like X-Wing and shouldn't. It's purely ground combat and I can't recall when I saw a majority of gangs teaming up together to fight for a specific reason they were all behind.willingly.FFG should release as much as they can from the Galactic Civil War and then either move to either A. The Clone War or B.

From my point of view, the problem with scum faction is that in order for them to be profitable for the FFG, they will have to be somewhat overpowered. I am guessing that the average Star Wars fan would choose the iconic rebel or the empire factions to buy, unless the Scum offers a significant power level advantage. But lets wait and see for now, I don't figure Legion will get stale so soon with two iconic factions.I love SW, if they announced a wave of Hutt forces tomorrow arriving in October, id buy it straight away regardless of how powerful it wasI want it all, Hutts, Bespin defence force (or any other planetary force), all the stuff from the original trilogy.Further down the line id like to see other time periods, but not yet. Other time periods too early imo would cause problems. Infantry based wargames traditionally have more than just two factions, and why does a 'Scum' faction have to be overpowered or prevent FFG from ALSO releasing Clone wars era armies?

People have said tht ffg wat to release a expansion each month. So for rebels we have echo troopers, rebel commandos and maybe some special units like engineers. Imperials have death troopers, imperial navy, scout troopers and maybe royal guards. That will maybe last 6 months after that i hope you like expanded universe or new trilogy stuffThere's so many storm trooper variants that it would be hard to entirely run out of them.

On the other hand, the Rebellion would need to dig deep to find more canon types of trooper. The support and heavy slots for both factions have pleanty of room to expand and it's not hard to find commanders for either side.Even when we run out of Canon units, the empire and the rebels both have a wide veriaty of legends troopers and vehicles to draw from before we absolutley NEED another faction. People enjoy the pirate/bounty hunting/crime syndicate aspect of the Star Wars universe and want to see that part of the GCW explored before moving into new eras.To respond to your points though - I’d actually love to see Clone Wars era stuff (CIS would actually be my first choice among armies if I was able to choose one from any point in SW). Not sure how adding scum would kill the story in Star Wars. They’re a part of so many story arcs in the movies, TV shows, comics, and novels that it’d be difficult to list them. And if you’re having trouble coming up with examples of scum assembling twenty troops and a couple vehicles to fight with. You’re REALLY not trying. As far as a third faction not appealing to new players getting into the game - I personally know two people who are waiting to get the game until scum comes out.In the end though you’re right. FFG should release as much from the GCW as they can before moving onto a new era.

And unless you ignore Episodes 4/5/6, Rebels, the comics, and the novels, “Scum” plays a big part in that conflictEdited March 22, 2018 by OMGBRICK. Plenty of bounty hunters for the empire to employ as well. Empire has shore troopers plus new units from the Han Solo film. There’s a good two years of releases for the empire and rebellion. I honestly forgot about the solo movie lol maybe there will be new stuff there. Are there any other vehicles for the rebels or imperials from the OT films that arent going to be massive (AT-AT)?

Factions

Contents FeaturesThe game lets the player live during the period of the Galactic Civil War, starting in 1ABY. The Jedi remaining are few, and the criminals prosper while the Empire and the Rebellion fight one another across the galaxy. The Hutt Cartel is also a potential enemy for the Empire and the Rebels. The Second Deathstar is under construction, but already operative, and both pirates and deserters aren't difficult to find. The game features the Star Wars galaxy in a main campaign map. The player is able to choose his/her race, abilities, and enter the world allied to any of the main factions, or remain independent. Once started, the character can move freely around the galaxy, visiting any of the Star Wars planets, such as Geonosis or Yavin IV.The mod includes a great number of active characters, who move throughout the galaxy besieging, defending, raiding or holding each of the locations. These individuals (commanders, bounty hunters, Sith, etc.) might ally or engage the player's character, who can even get missions from them.Customization ElementsThe game lets the player customize its character by buying armor, weapons, speeders, and other gadgets.

The player can visit the merchants around the galaxy and find items from vibroswords to thermal detonators. The loot option is in as well, which lets you recover items from the fallen units after battle.Star Wars Conquest also features a series of shipyards, where the character can buy some of the existent ships, depending on the amount of credits they have.

These locations, settled above some planets like Kuat or Fondor, let you apply for a loan, and offer different ships depending on the station's tradition. In Corellia for example, the player might be able to find a Corellian gunship.Apart from these, the character can also gather their own crew or army, and choose their own banner and culture. If the player manages to conquer any of the planets, they might be able to found a new faction, which they can name and rule. The player can encounter famous characters from the Star Wars universe. It is possible to find items from the Clone Wars, and even some from the times of the Old Republic. In the game, the character can also get to build specific planetary upgrades, which lets them raise units different to the normal recruits.Content.External Links., Official home, new forums and downloads.
