My Skyrim SE game keeps crashing a few mins after I load my game while using mods and I'm not sure what's causing it to crashing. I think it has something to do with my mod load order but I know nothing about making load orders that cause the game not to crash. Hell, I have seen 5 different people in the last 3 days posting load orders running Perkus Maximus without running the patcher and claiming it was working 'just fine'. Skyrim does not support uninstalling a mod on a save that you continue to play on. That is strait from the devs. Doing it DOES cause problems, even if they are ones that you are not aware of, or do not 'break' anything. Too much crap gets kept in the save, even with a save cleaner, for it to be 'safe'. To continue with the sex analogies, just because it doesn't burn when you pee doesn't mean you don't have VD. I was also getting CTDs upon loading new zones due to running a lot of scripted mods (e.g., Wet and Cold, Enhanced Blood, Footprints).I increased the value of fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS in skyri.ini from default 500 to 2000 and it seemed to do the trick.I am no expert, but this is the time the engine allows for loading content for new zones.
Posting this here, in the hopes of helping those, who are not Nexus regulars. My game is for the most part fairly stable, fairly being the operative word, since Skyrim is not completely stable to begin with. The best you can do, is to follow good modding advice, use the tools available an.
This may increase load time but will help ensure that everything gets loaded properly (I run Skyrim from SSD so my loads are darn fast anyway). It will not affect FPS or running of scripts after loading.There are other ini tweaks of this sort, but you should not mess with those.
